About Firebird Creations
Firebird Creations (formally Firebird Studios) is a hobby business that has branched from the passion and curiosity of creating origami handcrafted wonderments – transforming a flat piece of everyday paper into something inspiring and captivating.
Originally started as a way to entirely fund a trip to Japan, Firebird Creations continues its endeavours to explore the wonderful craft of origami – as well as recently extending into fabric folding and small sewing crafts. Since 2014, Firebird Creations has attended local regional markets in and around the Ballarat region where we are based, and displays stock at the Adam Lindsay Gordon Craft Cottage at the Ballarat Botanical Gardens and has hopes to expand into other valued shops in Ballarat and surrounding areas. Firebird Creations usually attends: Bridge Mall Design Market, Castlemaine Artist’s Market, and Beaufort Town Market - as well as many specialty markets throughout the year. For the future Firebird Creations aspires to share the knowledge and creativity of the crafts though workshops and demonstrations as a way of showing people the importance of escaping reality and value of making of handmade items. |

20/03/2020 My name is Lara and I am the every part of Firebird Creations. Early 2020 I began the NEIS course to transition my hobby into a business and what an interesting time to start a business to say the least - the pandemic of COVID-19. It is trying times for absolutely everyone and opening up my emails and seeing markets being cancelled and shops closing is just devastating, however it is what it is. In one aspect, it has motivated me to finally start a website and open an online shop. I want to provide people with the opportunity to be creative and escape reality, especially now. I wish for everyone to show kindness and compassion to each other - if we can get through this, we can get through anything. -Lara |
